Mrs. Ruth (Myers) Pierce of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 95 years, 11 months. She was born in Cumberland County on Saturday March 15, 1924, the daughter of John T. and May (Easter) Myers. She was a graduate of the class of 1942 of Burkesville High School, a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, a seamstress for Bob Evans Manufacturing Company in Burkesville, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Herbert Pierce, whom she wed on Saturday September 6, 1947, brothers, John Thomas "Bill" Myers Jr., Bennie Hall Myers, Walter "Cranzie" Myers, sisters, Mabel Gibson, Mildred Scott, Flora Smith, Marjorie Sparks. She is survived by her daughters, June (and Larry) Geralds of Gamaliel, Kentucky, Nancy (and Stephen) Riddle of Burkesville, Kentucky, Judy Tucker of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, son, Danny (and Jo Etta) Pierce of Burkesville, Kentucky, sister, Sue Baker of Burkesville, Kentucky, five grandchildren, Sheryl (and Brian) Scott, Angie Geralds, Donny Geralds, Jon Tucker, Tristan Tucker, four great-grandchildren, Kyle (and Jessica) Row, Ethan Rowe, Melanie ( and Jamie) Meek, Jordan (and Holly) Scott, four great-great-grandchildren, Presley, Paisley, Taylor and Nessa Ruth, sisters-in-law, Uldene Scott, and Anna Myers both of Indiana, brothers-in-laws, Lonnie (and Sarah) Pierce of Indiana, Shannon (and Brenda) Pierce of Glasgow, Kentucky. The Funeral service was conducted on Monday, February 17, 2020 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Special music provided by Libby Mullinix. Burial was in the Fudge Cemetery in Adair County, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Donny Geralds, Jon Tucker, Tristan Tucker, Kyle Rowe, Ethan Rowe, Jordan Scott, Jamie Meek and Brian Scott. Honorary Casket Bearers were Sheryl Scott, Melanie Meek, Angela Geralds, Jessica Rowe and Holly Scott. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Fudge Cemetery, P.O. Box 237, Columbia, Kentucky 42728. Norris-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
