Wilma Dyer Watson Obituary

Mrs. Wilma Dean (Spears) Dyer Watson, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Cumberland Valley Health & Rehab in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 19 days. She was born in the Willow Grove Community of Clay County, Tennessee, on Tuesday, September 2, 1941, the daughter of Cecil Otto & Mattie Bell (Willis) Spears. She was of the Christian faith and worked as a Middle & High School cook for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Franklin Dyer, whom she wed on April 16, 1959, second husband, Jack Watson, whom she wed on November 14, 2002, son, Donnie C. Spears, brothers, Richard Spears, Shelby Spears, and sister, Minnie Jean Branham.  
She is survived by her children, Ricky Wayne (& Darlin) Dyer, James Walter (& Tammy) Dyer, special step-daughter, Kim Watson, siblings, Nelda Farlee of Burkesville, Kentucky, Charlene (& Bobby) Scott of Marrowbone, Kentucky, Sherry (& Terry) Gregory of Lancaster, Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Spears, Josie Moss, Margaret Vibbert, grandchildren, Brandy (& Dan) Held, Nikki Spears, Richard Dyer, Kristi (& Lane) Hurt, Trevor (& Cassie) Dyer, Ethan Spears, Logan Spears, Luke Spears, great-grandchildren, Paige Held, Bohdi Held, Amber McIntyre, Triston Capshaw, Annzley Shaw, Skylar Young, Chesney Dyer, Kori-Ann James Dyer, Justin Kane Hurt, and one great-great grandchild, Rylee Held.
The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 3:00 P.M in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Castillo and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Spears, Bobby Scott, Trevor Dyer, Ethan Spears, Tristan Capshaw, Bohdi Held, and Lane Hurt. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Willis, Larry Willis, Tim Struthers, Andrew Spears, Matthew Spears, ReRun Branham, Richard Dyer, and Virgil Humphrey. Burial was in the Mud Camp Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
Norris-New Funeral Home of Burkesville, Kentucky, was honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
