Mr. Willard Capps, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Kentucky having attained the age of 73 years, 9 months and 8 days. He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 27, 1949 the son of Carson and Flora Ethel (Brown) Capps. He was a Christian and he owned Capps B.B.Q.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James Capps, Lloyd Capps, his brother-in-law, Stanley Short, great-nephew, Caleb Capps.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Gayle (Strode) Capps, whom he wed on Saturday, March 19, 1983, daughter, Kela (& Cody) Everley. of Burkesville, Kentucky, sister, Callie Short of Burkesville, Kentucky, mother and father-in-law, Wallace (Alyne) Strode of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Deloris (& Jackie) Vibbert, Mandy (& Taylor) Wood, Stacy McWilliams of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Marcia Capps Scarlett of Franklin, Kentucky, his grandchild, Kayden Everley, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Funeral Service was conducted on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., noon, in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville with Bro. Michael Stinson and Dr. Jerry Bean officiating. Burial was in the Mount Poland Cemetery in Tompkinsville, Ky. Casket bearers were Jonathan Odle, Nathan Odle, Robert Capps, Danny Capps, Jordan Wood, and Jaret Wood. Honorary casket bearers were Dale Ford, Justin Wood, Jason Short, Kevin Capps, Rodney Hopper, Charles Scott, Jackie Vibbert, Taylor Wood, Greg McConner, and Alex Killman. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
