Vivene (Higginbotham) Cash

Mrs. Vivene Lyeria (Higginbotham) Cash, of the Willis Creek Community, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 peacefully at her residence having attained the age of 104 years, 4 months & 13 days. She was born in the Willis Creek Community of Clinton County, Kentucky on Wednesday, July 2, 1919 the daughter of Daniel Webster Higginbotham and Addie Ellen (Neathery) Higginbotham. She was a descendant of Several pioneering families in Cumberland & Clinton Counties, Tallent, Neathery, Higginbotham & Riddle. She believed in The Old Methodist Church, and at her passing was a member of Seminary Community Church. She was a homemaker, farmer, store Merchant, and former pastors wife. She enjoyed reading, cleaning the farm, mowing her yard, working, watching people work, and more working. Proverbs 22:1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches...She had a good name. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Joe Cash, siblings, James Litton Higginbotham, Mary Frances Laws, Anna Kate Sell, Daniel Gene Higginbotham, Robert Erskine “Bobby” Higginbotham, & Ruby Gaye Dyer, a great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Grider.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Gary Erskine (& Jean) Cash of Burkesville, Granddaughters, Maryellen Hope Cash of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Gari Lynne (& Justin) Grider of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Sara Elizabeth (& Donnie) Thrasher of Burkesville, Great-Grandchildren, Elijah Lee Grider, Addelyn Elizabeth Pruitt, Lucas Reid Grider, Quinn Amelia Thrasher, Cash Daniel Grider, Harper Elaine Grider & Willow Kate Thrasher, Many Nieces, Nephews, Great and Great-Great also survive.

The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Eulogies given by Bro. Gary E. Cash, Bro. Larry Spears, Niece-Ellen Wilhoit, Friend-Drucilla Anderson. Special singing by Glory Road from Greensburg, Kentucky. Burial followed in The Lewis Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Pall bearers were Steve Teal, David Teal, David Page, Don Claywell, Shane Wilhoit, and Dwight Day.
