Virginia Susan (Melton) Edwards

Virginia Susan (Melton) Locke Edwards, age 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at her residence in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The Cumberland County native was the daughter of the late James Wesley Melton and Amelia Radford Melton. Virginia was preceded in death by her two husbands, Walter Ellis Locke (1972) and Joe Lloyd Edwards (2004). Also preceded in death by her siblings were: Rosa Anderson, Geneva Parrish, Myrtle Shiver, Iva Norris, Clara Norris, Albert Melton, Herman Melton, Roy Melton, and Boyd Melton.
She had two surviving children, Lisa A. Locke Epley of Bowling Green, and Stephen E. Locke of Horse Cave.
She had eight grandchildren: Franklin Alexander Scott Epley (Ali), Jennifer Kaye Epley (Brandon Richardson), Loretta Matthews, Mark Locke, Stephanie Locke, Jamie Locke, Mindy Helton, and Aaron Locke. She had three great grandchildren very close to her heart: Ember Reign Richardson, Lincoln Alexander Epley, and Evie Hunter Epley. She also had many other great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her caregiver, Cindy Richardson of Bowling Green.
She will be missed by her Pomeranian, a beloved companion of 15 years, Bear.
The Funeral Service was conducted Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with burial in the Horse Cave Cemetery. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky is honored to share this obituary as a professional courtesy.
