Uriah Array Hammer

Mr. Uriah Hammer of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, having attained the age of 78 years, 1 month, and 27 days. He was born in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on Thursday, April 17, 1941, the son of Granger and Clonnie Hammer. He was of Christian faith, a U. S. Army Veteran, and a Millwright for Olin Brass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Steve Downton, brothers, Jube Hammer, Lee Hammer, Azer Hammer, and sisters, Rebecca Dubre, Nadine Hammer, and Earlene Hammer. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Humphrey) Hammer of Glasgow, Kentucky, step-son, Mark Downton of Willow Shade, Kentucky, and step-granddaughter, Robin Downton. The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial was in the Dutch Creek Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Mark Downton, John Vibbert, Dave Boles, Tim Mesker, Dan Gordon and Donald Gordon. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
