Thomas Baker Obituary

Mr. Thomas Dewaine Baker of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee having attained the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 11 days. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on Sunday, July 3, 1960, the son of Elvin “Alec” & Sue (Myers) Baker. Mr. Baker was of the Christian faith, and was a member at the Burkesville Church of Christ. He worked for the Cumberland County Hospital and Burkesville Medical Supply, volunteered with the Cumberland County Rescue Squad, and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his Father, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Cordell & Mabel (Coop) Sells.

He is survived by his mother, Sue (Myers) Baker, wife Deborah (Sells) Baker whom he wed on Saturday, October 20, 1990, son, Colton Stuart Baker, twin sister, Tylia (& Jim) Stodghill, all of Burkesville, sister, Tammy Love of Glasgow, Kentucky, brother, Todd (& Robin) Baker of Summershade, Kentucky, and brother-in-law, Doug (& Carol Ann) Sells of Burkesville.

The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. David Eldridge officiating. Burial was in the Baker Family Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Tyler Walbert, Aelec Baker, Kneey Claywell, Frankie Sells, Bary White, Mark Vibbert, Todd Baker, and John M. Rowe. Honorary Pallbearers were Stevie Joe York, Ricky Branham, Ricky Pruitt, Dr. Sam Rice, & Dr. Robert Flowers Sr.

Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
