Susan L. Dillard

Susan L. Dillard, 81 of Spencer, Indiana passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Saturday, August 7, 2021 after a brief illness.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana on October 15, 1939, she was the daughter of Caleb and Eva (Bechtel) Nunn. She married Harry E. Dillard on August 12, 1966 and he preceded her in death in 2017. Susan provided for her family working at GE and RCA until her retirement. She then started her second career at the Owen County Jail as a cook. When Susan wasn't working or taking care of her family, she enjoyed gardening, reading, cross stitch, and taking trips to many different places. She was a loving Mom and Grandma to her family, spending any quality time with them she could. Susan faithfully worshipped the Lord at the Ellettsville Church of Christ.

Susan is survived by her children, Joedy (Sara) Dillard, Lisa (Patrick) Fitzgearld, Gina (Daniel) Johnson, John Dillard, and Shawn (Bill) Burcham; brother, Russell Nunn; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; cousins, Edna Shaw, Bobby Cary, and Madell Daniel of Burkesville, Kentucky; and her beloved pet companion, Molly.

She was preceded in death by father, Caleb Nunn; mother, Eva Nunn; step-daughter, Becky Smith; and sister, Cheri Kitts.

A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 5:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home with Paul Adams officiating. Interment at Clear Creek Cemetery. The family invites you to share condolences, memories and more with Susan's family by visiting her tribute page at www.chandlerfh.com.
