Mrs. Shirley Jean (Polston) Bryant of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 74 years, 1 month and 27 days. She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Tuesday, May 29, 1951, the daughter of Robert Madison & Alma Jean (Fletcher) Polston. She was a woman of faith, a member of Providence Church, and attended Centerpoint Church of the Nazarene. She graduated from Cumberland County High School class of 1969 and later completed beauty school in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was a business owner and devoted homemaker who deeply loved her sons and grandchildren. She found joy in traveling, cooking, spending time with family, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Madison Polston, paternal grandparents, Henry & Lucille (Stephens) Polston, maternal grandparents, Rhyman & Jamie (Higginbotham) Fletcher.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Chad Bryant, Ryan Craig (& Gretchen) Bryant, both of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Scout L’Reed Bryant, Joseph Cannon Bryant, Andrew Jamison Bryant, Brody Dean Bryant, Ashton Jhett Bryant, Taylor Monroe Bryant, Cameron Blake Davidson, Norah Katherine Bryant, sister-in-law, Pattie Polston (& Tim) Bryant, niece, Kyna Michelle Capps (& Royce Strong), nephew, Ross Madison (& Samantha) Polston, and special friend, Dr. Todd Stephenson.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Sells, Bro. Jeff Thompson, and Bro. Tim Parson officiating. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Andrew Bryant, Ashton Bryant, Scout Bryant, Cannon Bryant, Brody Bryant and Ross Polston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution appreciated to the Shriner Children’s Hospital.
