Sammy Gene Smith

     Mr. Sammy Gene Smith, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 03, 2023 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green, Ky. having attained the age of 55 years, 1 month, and 27 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Wednesday, February 07, 1968 the son of Billy Gene and Donna Dean (Carter) Smith. He attended Hanover Church of Christ, and he was a self employed Auto Body Repair Man. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Lee Smith.

     He is survived by his step-mother, Phyllis (Garrett) Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky, children, Dasya Jon Smith of Somerset, Kentucky, Sammy Donn Smith of Burkesville, Kentucky, sister, Pam Linnett (Smith) Kirk of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchild, Casper Jace Harmon, ex-wife, Donna (Smith) Nuszbaum of Albany, Kentucky, along with other family members and many friends.  

     The Funeral Service was conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Jimmy Stephens and Hershel Cyphers officiating. Casket bearers were Sammy D. Smith, Mark Harmon, Billy Wray, Ethan Spears, Parker Perry, and honorary casket bearer Donnie Carter. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers contributions appreciated to help pay final expenses and may be left at the funeral home. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
