Neil Baker

Mr. Neil Baker was born February 23, 1927 to Grace (Jones) Baker and “Lem” James Baker. He died peacefully at his home in Burkesville, Ky. on his 96th birthday, February 23, 2023. Neil was an only child and was deeply loved by his parents and family. As a child he attended Salem School. He became a successful farmer and could repair most farm equipment. Mr. Neil was an active and long time member of the local Burkesville First united Methodist Church.

  He was preceded in death by his wife in 2019, Patty Allen-Baker. Neil is survived also by 2 nieces, a nephew, and many dear friends and cousins.

  The Celebration of Life Service was Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Nickie Richards officiating. Casket bearers were Thomas J. Brown, Wade Flowers, Van Flowers, Danny Oechsli, Bob Schell, and Greg Smith. Honorary casket bearer was Todd Morgan. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery.

  In lieu of flowers the family appreciates contributions made to the Burkesville Cemetery, P.O. Box 246, Burkesville, Kentucky 42717. Norris-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
