Michael Bean

Mr. Michael Edward Bean of Columbia, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 4 days. He was born on Monday, September 20, 1948 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of James “Peaches” & Marie (Smith) Bean. He was of the Christian faith, and attended Grace Union Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Bean, David Bean, and grandson, Justin Bean.

He is survived by his life partner, Carolyn Bean of Burkesville, children, Angie Pierce (& Daniel), Steve (& Brittany) Bean, and Tonya Brown (& Chris), all of Columbia, Kentucky, step children, Joseph (& Misty) Sewell of Burkesville, Chris (& Patty) Sewell of Glasgow, Kentucky, William (& Patty) Sewell of Burkesville, sister, Eleanor Polston of Columbia, Kentucky, lifelong friend Allen Duvall, 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter.

The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Shelley officiating. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Timmy Polston, Allen Duvall, Phillip Smith, Joseph Sewell, Brandon Bean, Chris Brown, and Josh Brown. Honorary casket bearers were Chris Bryant, Daniel Dick, Red Medlin, Jimmy Norris, Daniel Polston, Chris Sewell, and Benji Polston.  

Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville was honored to be in charge of all arrangements.
