Mary Ann (Harris) Smith

Mrs. Mary Ann (Harris) Smith, of Ferris Creek Rd in Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the T.J. Sampson Hospital in Glasgow having obtained the age of 70 years and 9 days. She was born on Monday, July 20, 1953 in Cumberland County, to Ransom Paul Harris and Mary Ruth (Barger) Harris. She was a Christian and had been a cook and a seamstress throughout her life.  She was a former employee of 5 star Cagles/Keystone foods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norris Smith whom she wed in December of 1986, brothers, Bobby Harris, Bill Harris, and Timmy Harris.

She is survived by her two children, Chrystal (& Jamie) Hurt of Edmonton, Kentucky, Stephanie (& Mark) Elmore of Marrowbone, Kentucky, six siblings, Paul (& Mary) Harris of Albany, Kentucky, Phyllis Hulse, Carlie Harris, Tony (& Melissa) Harris all of Burkesville, Kentucky, Bessie Slaughter (& Chris Ashlock) of Albany, Kentucky, Patty (& Tracy) Burden of Lexington, Kentucky, sisters in-law, Patsy Harris, Wanda (& Lenvil) Piercy, Grandchildren, Tiffanie Staley, Dakota Campbell, Dustin Elmore, Matthew Trent, Jacob Trent, Cameron Hurt, Gavin Hurt, Jayden Hurt, Noah Hurt, Great Granchildren, Makenna Staley, Clara Staley, Harper Staley, Braylee Ballard, Amara Campbell, Maddox Trent, plus several nieces and nephews as well as host of friends.

The funeral service was conducted on, Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Shelly officiating. The Family received friends at Norris-New Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 until the funeral hour. Casket Bearers were Danny Cooper, Dakota Campbell, Dustin Elmore, Matthew Trent, Jacob Trent and Casey Staley. Burial was in the Creasy Cemetery in Metcalfe County, Kentucky.
