Marjorie (Garrison) Allen Obituary

Marjorie Jo Garrison Allen, 88, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Marjorie was born on April 8, 1937, the daughter of Earl Emmett Garrison and Lucy Mary Smith Lewis. Marjorie graduated from Martha Norris Memorial High School in Marrowbone, KY in 1954. She received her College Secretarial Department Diploma from Bowling Green University in 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Marshall Gene Allen in Bowling Green Kentucky on December 15, 1954. Outside of the home, Marjorie began her professional career at the Bank of Marrowbone as a teller and loan officer. She applied her professional skills at home, managing finances, vacation planning, homework, and after-school activities. After raising two children, Marjorie went back to work as the accountant for Sageser Drug store and then on to being the Parish Administrator at Christ Central Cathedral. Marjorie was an active member of Centenary Church for over 60 years. Marjorie will be remembered for her contagious smile and positivity, generosity, and loving support of others, as well as her unwavering faith. She was a role model for many, and a friend to all. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Gene Allen. They celebrated more than 50 years of marriage.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Staci, and Jon Duke Seibold, her son, Mark Garrison Allen, and a team of caregivers that are now part of her family; Lisa Pickel, Clarita Newman, Chas Nealy, Pam Karanova.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00AM at Centenary Church in Lexington. Visitation will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – 3421 Harrodsburg Road on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5-7PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. C.S.T. in the Marrowbone Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Adoptees Connect, Hope for Tomorrow Guatemala, or the Methodist Children’s Home.
