Marie (Davis) Davidson

Mrs. Marie (Davis) Davidson passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at her residence in Louisville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 94 years, 6 months , and 24 days. She was born on Monday, August 24, 1931, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of Luther “Sam” & Sally (Lee) Davis. Marie was of the Jehovah Witness faith and was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness - Shively, Kentucky. As a homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Davidson, whom she wed on Friday, February 18, 1949; brother, Eugene “Rabbit” Davis; and sister, Alma Louisa “June” Poindexter. 

She is survived by her daughter, Kathie Wideman of Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Thelma Lucille “Penny” Wray of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandson, Erik Wideman; great-grandchildren, Jenna Wideman and Justine Wideman.  

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday April 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Louis Rayzor officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Erik Wideman, Phillip Davidson, Andy Davidson, Tim Gossett, Lem Sikes, Justine Wideman
