Linda Faye (Spears) Appleby

Mrs. Linda Faye (Spears) Appleby of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020, at The Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 75 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was born in the Bow community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Friday, October 27, 1944, the daughter of Millard and Pearl (Riddle) Spears. She was of the Methodist Faith, a member of the Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, a seamstress for Osh-Kosh, and an employee of E.M.K. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Appleby, whom she wed on Sunday, January 1, 1995, siblings, Granville Spears, Austin Spears, Lester Spears, Leslie Spears, Preston Spears, J.E. Spears, Lizzie Ooten, Bonnie Johnson, Maxie Bowlin, grandson, Jonathan Southard. She is survived by her children, Cilla Faye Taylor, Fonnita Jaramillo, Donnita Rushton, Larry Westrater, Lanny Westrater, Jeanie Spears, Kathy Keene, Raymond "Sam" Appleby Jr., Suzanne Sheffield, Frank Appleby, Travis Appleby, siblings, Mabel Carter, Shirley Stone, thirty two grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Rev. R. Thomas Wilson and Bro. Lanny Garner officiating. A graveside committal prayer was shared by Frank Appleby. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Tre' Marlow, Lanny Westrater, Jose Jaramillo, Justin Appleby, Larry Carver, Claude Carver, Chris Keene, Chris Goodson and Josh Morgan. Norris-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
