Lester Merle Melton

Mr. Lester Merle Melton Of Burkesville, Kentucky died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky, having attained the age of 77 years 2 months, & 23 days. He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Tuesday, September 04, 1945 the son of Olison and Emogene Melton. He was a Christian Man who was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church, and a self employed farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Williams) Melton, sister, Connie Jean Melton.

      He is survived by his siblings, Brenda (& Lonell) Thompson of Celina, Tennessee, Teresa (& Duwayne) Nelson of Glasgow, Kentucky, sister-in-law, Mary (Williams) (& Jackie) Day of Celina, Tennessee, nieces and nephews, Stacy Thompson, Bryant Thompson, Brandon Strother, Tina Day, Tony Day, several great-nieces and nephews also survive.

     The graveside funeral service was conducted on Friday, December 02, 2022 at 2:00.p.m. in the Gaines Hill Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Casket bearers were Archie Slaughter, Brandon Strother, John Melton, Bryant Thompson, Jackie Norris, and Stacy Thompson. Burial was in Gaines Hill Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.  

     Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
