Mrs. Judith Kay (Thrasher) “Judy” Lee, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 82 years, 6 months & 22 days. She was born in Bloomington, Indiana on Wednesday, September, 23, 1940. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church and served in many positions as was needed, was a graduate of Martha Norris Memorial High School in Marrowbone Kentucky Class of 1958, worked at Doctor Chambliss office, Smiths Pharmacy and Cumberland County Hospital, was a member of the Republican Woman’s Club, Woman’s Jaycees, and loved to sew and make baby blankets for not only her family members, but those in the community. She also enjoyed gardening and working in flowers. She was preceded in death by her, father Edward “Edd” Thrasher, grandmother, Daisy (Anderson) Thrasher who raised her, her brother, Jackie Thrasher and her beloved husband Arnold J. Lee, whom she wed Friday, February 26, 1960.
She is survived by children, Edward Garland Lee, Gina Shaye Lee (& Larry) Watson, Aunt, Carmelita Smith, four grandchildren, Megan (& Russ) Acree, Matayea Watson, Mark Lee and Kayte Watson, four great grandchildren, Sidney Acree, Saban Roach, Paislee Acree, and Saige Roach all of Burkesville, Kentucky, as well as a host of friends.
The Funeral service was conducted on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Shelley, and the honorable Lanny Judd officiating. Casket bearers were Larry Watson, Mark Lee, Russ Acree, Travis Radford, Nonnie Smith, and Danny Lee. Honorary casket bearers were Daniel Lee, Shelby Lee, Alex Killman, Timmy Thrasher, Tommy Thrasher, and Steve Thrasher. Burial was in the Stockton Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Stockton Cemetery. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
