Joyce D (Dyer) Hurt

Mrs. Joyce (Dyer) Hurt of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her residence in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 1 day. She was born in the Mud Camp Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday, May 21, 1939, the daughter of Arlie and Hattie (Biggerstaff) Dyer. She was a Christian, a member of Mud Camp Church of Christ, a graduate of Marrowbone High School, and a secretary for Cumberland County Elementary School, in Burkesville, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hurt Jr. of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom she wed on Sunday, January 26, 1958, daughter, Melanie Geralds and her fiancé Martin Wix of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, grandchild, Kelly (& Brian) Pulliam of Bowling Green, Kentucky, great-grandchildren, Briley and Samuel, and special care giver, Jan Clark.

The funeral service for Mrs. Joyce (Dyer) Hurt was conducted on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12 Noon in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Castillo and Bro. Jimmy Powell officiating, with a eulogy being shared by The Honorable Steve Hurt. Casket bearers were Tracy Groce, Michael Arms, Anthony Hurt, John Hurt, Brian Pulliam, Rick Capps, Marty Wix. Honorary Casket bearers were Jan Clark, Debbie Dubree, Betty Lee, Vickie Anderson, Shirley Ferguson, Linda Murley. Burial was in the Grider Memorial Cemetery.
