Joe Monroe

Mr. Joe Richard Monroe, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 67 years, 8 months and 27 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday, June 19, 1955 the son of George and Evalena (Gilbert) Monroe. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church, he was also a farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael Monroe, Sandra Cash, Charlie Gilbert.

     He is survived by his children, Dustin Wayne Tweedy, of Louisville, Kentucky , Ashley Dyer of Edmonton, Kentucky, Ashley Hernandez of Albany, Kentucky, special friends, Shirley Fae Vibbert of Burkesville, Kentucky, Patrcia Fugate of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Teddy Monroe of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rebecca Whitley of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Landen Fransico, Jasmin Nicolas, Christian Nicolas, Evelyn Monroe, Alexander Hernandez, Paisley Myers, Hayden Vibbert.

     The Funeral Service was conducted on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Gary Cash and Bro. David Davis officiating. Casket bearers were David “Sheb” Anderson, Cliff Vibbert, Johnny Salinas, Dana Watts, Jacob Myers, Cody Monroe, and Zack Monroe. Honorary casket bearers were Jason Dickerson, Shaw Janes, Jerry Lynn, Roberto Pascual, Jimmy Norris, Teddy Monroe, Sean Turner, Lawrence Vincent, Harlan Morgan, and Mike Morgan.   Burial was in the Modoc Cemetery in Cumberland County, Ky. In lieu of flowers contributions appreciated to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Dr., Somerset, Kentucky, 42503.  Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of arrangements.
