Jeffery Wayne "Jeff" Cook

Mr. Jeffery Wayne “Jeff” Cook of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, having attained the age of 64 years, 5 months, and 27 days. He was born on Sunday, July 23, 1961, in Albany, Kentucky, the son of James & Christine (Brown) Cook. He was of the Christian faith and a devoted member of Parrish Chapel Methodist Church. A local business owner of Regena’s Rent-A-Car, he took pride in faithfully serving his community. He especially loved spending time with his family and was known for greeting everyone he met or served with a warm smile. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Cook; mother-in-law, Johnie "Nana" Hickman; and beloved pet, Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Regena Cook, whom he wed on Saturday, June 30, 1990; beloved pet, Baron Davis Cook; mother-in-law, Josie (Davis) Humphrey, of Burkesville, Kentucky; special daughter, Sydney Franklin Branham of Marrowbone, Kentucky; siblings, Jimmy (& Sandra) Cook of Burkesville, Kentucky, Susie Thomas of Albany, Kentucky; brothers-in-law, Parker (& Amanda) Hickman, Nathan Hickman, both of Burkesville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Toni Cook, of Burkesville, Kentucky, aunts, Lonell Cook of Louisville, Kentucky, Pauline Keown of Kambi, Indiana; uncle, Jim Brown of Danville, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Howard Bray, James Bray, Krystal Cook, James (& JaLisa) Cook, Dusty (& Taylor) Hickman, Lexus Hickman, Byron Groce, Isaac (& Amanda) Hickman, Haley (& Mason) Coomer; special grandchildren, Hunner Cook, Gage Cook, Kimber Smith, Chandler Smith, Braxton Hickman, Tennessy Jean Vaughn, Emory Josephine Hickman; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

The funeral service was conducted on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky, with Bro. Gary Cash & Sister Jennifer Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Grider Memorial Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Parker Hickman, Byron Groce, Nathan Hickman, Dusty Hickman, Mark Cromwell, Isaac Hickman, James Cook. Honorary Casket Bearers were Josh Polston, Tracy Groce, Kenny Brown, Larry Watson, Donnie Riley, Wesley Radford, Terry Murphy, and Timmy Gilbert.
