Janice (Craft) Parrish

Mrs. Janice Ruth (Craft) Parrish, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her residence having attained the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 13 days. She was born in Bull Ridge Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 29, 1949, the daughter of Goethal Holland & Lucy Dorothy (Hopper) Craft. She was of the Methodist faith and a faithful member of Highland Chapel Methodist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and excellent cook, she found great joy in caring for and spoiling the many children she babysat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip R. Parrish, whom she wed on Saturday, June 26, 1976, siblings, Kenneth Craft, Willie Fayette “Bill” Craft, Pamela Fannie Craft, and sister-in-law, Margie Cash Craft.

She is survived by her children, Monica Amelia (& Scott) Landers of Louisville Kentucky, Valerie Victoria (& Bro. Terry) Shelley, of Burkesville, Kentucky, siblings, Preston (& Carolyn) Craft of Burkesville, Kentucky, Jackie Stella (& Jerry) Bryant, of Marrowbone, Kentucky, sisters-in-law, Judy Craft and Novella Craft both of Burkesville, Kentucky. Grandchildren, Parker Shelley, Karma Shelley and Nicole Shelley.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M in the Memory Chapel at Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Shelley & Bro. Charles Mosley officiating. Casket bearers were Wayne Craft, David Craft, Ryan Craft, Ricky Craft, Stephen Bean, Finis Capshaw, Jerry Don Staley, and William Dubre. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of the children that she babysit since 1981. Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky. In Lieu of flowers contributions appreciated to Gideons International.
