Mr. James “Jim” Harris of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home having attained the age of 81 years, 7 months and 16 days. He was born on Saturday, December 20, 1941 in Harlan County, Kentucky to Charles & Flora (Fields) Harris . He was a Christian and an assembly worker of G.E. Appliances. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Herbert Harris, Muriel Deckard, Clark Harris, Beulah Salings, and Ron Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Pansy (Bryant) Harris of Burkesville, Kentucky whom he wed on Saturday, June 22,1974, children, Mitzi (& Dwight) Durbin of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, Sean (& Evette) Hardin of Shelbyville Kentucky, and Lori Aldridge of Bowling Green, Kentucky, brother, Gary (& Linda) Harris of Sonora, Kentucky, grandchildren, Nicholas (& Tara) Durbin, Adam Vincent, Stephanie Durbin, Jacob Hardin, Ashton Aldridge, and Kevin Harris, great-grandchildren, Kylie Durbin, and Connor Durbin
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home. Burial was at the Dutch Creek Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket bearers for the service were Nicholas Durbin, Adam Vincent, Jacob Hardin, Kevin Harris, Michelle Burns, and Debra Branham. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
