Mr. James Lester Davis, of Panama City Florida, formerly of Conyers, Georgia, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia having attained the age of 62 years, 6 months & 7 days. He was born on Monday, February 15, 1960, in Orange County, California the son of Walter Ralph and Dolly Rolene (Hurt) Davis. He was of the Methodist Faith, an educator serving as a teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal, and a principal. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, traveling, reading, and collecting comic books and coins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Lee “Don” Davis.
He is survived by his mother, Dolly Rolene (Hurt) Davis of Morgantown, Kentucky, wife, Angela Sue (Dossett) “Angie” Davis of Panama City Beach, Florida, son, James Clayton “Clay” Davis and his family of Suwanee, Georgia
The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Gary Hardin officiating, and the Honorable Steve Hurt giving an eulogy. Casket bearers were Chris Davis, Jonathan Wester, Caleb Wester, Coleman Hurt, Randy Fudge, Will Hurt, and William Wester. Burial was in the Grider Memorial Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Grider Memorial Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Davis.
