Mrs. Helen (Flowers) Hardin of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at the Cumberland Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 95 years, 10 months, and 15 days. She was born on Thursday, February 14, 1929 in Christian County, Illinois, the daughter of Hershel Travis & Montie (Ashinhurst) Flowers. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Sexton Fork Baptist Church. Helen worked for Bob Evans, Winningham Apparel, Byrdstown Apparel, and was a loving homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finis Hardin, whom she wed in 1948, grandson, Christopher Gale Hardin, great-granddaughter, Hadley Grace Hardin, siblings Edith Evans, Julia Ayers, Mary Garner, Eloise “Lou” Hambrick, Alberta Murray, Billie Flowers, Hershel Wayne Flowers, Viola Braswell, and John Flowers, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Gail Hardin
She is survived by her children, Gayle Hardin, Rev. Gary (& Joan) Hardin, and Larry (& Brenda) Hardin, all of Burkesvile, Kentucky, grandchildren, Cindy Craft, Rebecca (& Mark) Price, Kendall Joseph Hardin, Angela (& Anthony) Jones, Michael (& Amy) Hardin, Adriane (& Aaron) Davis, Dakota Moore, Wil (& Michala) Price, Matthew Jones, Micah Price, Dawson (& Kasey) Jones, Chris Craft, J.W. Hardin, great-grandchildren, Heavenleigh Moore, Finn Price, and Stetson Jones, special nanny of: Brandi Abston, Adam Abston, Dante Carter, Kinslee White, and Reagan Arnold.
The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel of the Norris-New Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Price officiating. Burial was in the Modoc Cemetery in Cumberland County Kentucky. Casket bearers were Michael Hardin, Dakota Moore, Wil Price, Matthew Jones, Micah Price, and Dawson Jones. Honorary casket bearers were J.W. Hardin, Finn Price, Stetson Jones, Dante Carter, Chris Craft, Anthony Jones, Aaron Davis, and Alex Savage.
