Ethel Hope (Longacre) Gardner

Mrs. Ethel Hope Gardner, age 80, of Fairdale, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 4, 2021. She was born on January 20, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Morgan Longacre and Florine (Downs) Longacre. Mrs. Gardner worked as a secretary for Devoe Paint. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Holly Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Bullitt County Homemakers Association. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William “Bill” Longacre, Theodore “Ted” Longacre; sister, Lora Jean Fox; brothers, Donald “Don” Longacre, James “Jimmy” Longacre, Morris Longacre, Walter Longacre; and sister, Linda Sue Longacre.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, Paul Gardner; sisters, Rowena Vaughn, Roberta Carty (Russell), Fay Bennett; sister in laws, Barbara Longacre, Keata Longacre; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Local survivors include Jean (& Gary) Cash, Maryellen Cash, Gari Lynne (& Justin) Grider, Sara (& Donnie) Thrasher, Elijah, Addelyn, Lucas, Cash, Harper, Quinn and Willow

Funeral Service will be held at Mt. Holly United Methodist Church at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 with burial at Mt. Holly Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, 4895 North Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, Kentucky 40165.
