Emily (Claywell) Allen Shewmaker

  Mrs. Emily (Claywell) Allen Shewmaker, of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, June 8, 2023, having attained the age of 52 years, and 10 months.  She was born on Saturday, August 8, 1970 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of Lowell Edward “Eddie” Claywell, & Jeanne (Morgan) Claywell. She was a member of Burkesville First Christian Church and a retired elementary school special education teacher. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Edward “Eddie” Claywell and Jeanne (Morgan) Claywell, and her husband, Danny Cleveland Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Todd Shewmaker of Burkesville, Kentucky, her son, Isaac (& Sidney) Allen of Georgetown, Indiana, Emilia (& Jaysen) Judd, of Batavia, Ohio, brothers, Brent (& Tylia) Claywell and Gerald (& Gina) Claywell, of Burkesville, Kentucky, nieces and nephews, Laura (& Dustin) Harvey, Glasgow, Kentucky, Charlton Claywell, of Burkesville, Kentucky, Catherine (& Dan) Polanowicz, Spanaway, Washington, Tyler Claywell, of Glasgow, Kentucky, Great Niece, Layla Harvey, of Glasgow, Kentucky, Aunts and Uncles, Gail (& Tommy) Hurt, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Gary (& Betty Lou) Morgan, of Burkesville, Kentucky, Phillip (& Sheryl) Morgan, of Frankfort, Kentucky, Mary Ruth Claywell of Albany, Kentucky, Madge Fister of Clarksville, Indiana, Jean Claywell, Dale (& Linnie) Claywell all of Albany, Kentucky, Rhonda (& Steve) Shafer of Clay City, Indiana, Daryl Claywell of Glasgow, Kentucky, Don (& Ruth) Claywell, David (& Debbie) Claywell all of Albany, Kentucky, Lynn Claywell of Byrdstown, Tennessee, and a host of other cousins, family and friends.

     The funeral service was conducted on, Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Shelly officiating. Casket bearers were Brent Claywell, Gerald Claywell, Tyler Claywell, Charlton Claywell, Dustin Havey, Wade Flowers. Honorary casket bearers were Brian Morgan, David Morgan, John Morgan, Aaron Morgan, Anthony Hurt, Sarah Morgan, Elizabeth Hurt, Karen Morgan.  Burial was in the Burkesville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to The Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or Set Apart Program.
