Miss Edna Earl Shaw of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Cumberland County Hospital having attained the age of 90 years, & 4 days. She was born on Sunday, September 25, 1932, in the Leslie Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky the daughter of Beckam E. and Minnie Dixie (Cary) Shaw. She was of the Church of Christ faith, member of Church of Christ at Hanover, Seamstress for Bob Evans for many years, sales clerk 10 years for Ruth’s Variety, clerk for many years for Smith’s Pharmacy until her retirement. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother & sister-in-law, Herschel & Madesta Shaw
She is survived by her nephews, Stephen (& Cil) Shaw, Randy (& Joan) Shaw both of Centerville, Ohio, great-nieces, Stephany (& Eric) Stacy, Amanda Timmons, Amelia Shaw, great-nephew, John Shaw, great-great-nephews, Justin Stacy & Tucker Timmons, great-great-nieces, Morgan Stacy & Macy Timmons, a very special first cousin, Maedell Daniel, along with other family members and many, many friends..
The funeral service was conducted on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Tim Struthers and Bro. Jimmy Stephens officiating. Casket bearers were Bobby Wayne Cary, John Shaw, Eric Stacy, Bobby Lee Cary, Larry Estes, and Tucker Timmons. Honorary Casket bearers were Smith’s Employees, Joe H. Curtis, Bill Curtis, Dr. Flowers, Lindsey Bell, Junior Cary, Jerry Willis, Nathan Cary, Doug Butler, Parker Scott, and Nelson Owens. Burial was in the Leslie Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
