Mrs. Edith Frances (Ruker) Waits of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 14 days. She was born in Anderson County, Kentucky on Wednesday, December 3, 1930, the daughter of John Stanford and Dora (Brook) Ruker. She was of Baptist faith, a member of the Shelbyville First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and a Business Owner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Waits, daughter, Peggy Jo Ratliff, and several siblings. She is survived by her son, Sam (and Frankie) Waits of Burkesville, Kentucky, Anthony Waits of Granbury, Texas, siblings, Iva Dean Gabhart of Louisville, Kentucky, Elva Powell of Rising Sun, Indiana, Alva Cook of Lexington, Kentucky, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky is honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
