Diane (McCoy) Staton

Ms. Diane (McCoy) Staton of Albany passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at her home having attained the age of 67 years, 1 month & 3 days. She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Tuesday, March 4, 1958 the daughter of Jesse Martin & Wanda Lee (Biggerstaff) McCoy. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, attending the Albany congregation. A proud 1976 graduate of Cumberland County High School, she went on to serve her community as a Deputy Circuit Court Clerk for Clinton County, Kentucky. She had a joyful spirit and loved spending time at yard sales, fishing, crocheting, and enjoying days at the lake. She especially cherished traveling with “the girls”, hunting dryland fish, and collecting arrowheads. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents, Jess & Madge (Dishman) McCoy, Maternal Grandparents, Frank & Hazel (Baise) Biggerstaff.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Nicole Spears, James Arthur (& Chelsey) Staton IV, both of Albany, Kentucky, sisters, Charlotte Carney, Catherine Moore, Sandy McCoy, Helen Vogelsberg, brothers, Kim McCoy, Charles McCoy, Todd McCoy, grandchildren, Jesse Dylan Crawley, Samantha Elliese “Ellie” Crawley, and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro Raymond Casitllo officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Bozie York, Justin Hughes, Camden Marcum, Kim McCoy, Casey McCoy, and William Bell.
