Mrs. Deborah Lynn “Debbie” (Smith) Baugh of Science Hill, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky having attained the age of 69 years, 2 months & 18 days. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Friday, August 26, 1955 the daughter of Osby “Spider” & Ruth Ellen (Goff) Smith. She was a Christian lady, member of Science Hill Methodist Church, worked at Roses Department Store for 27 years, and until her illness, cared for children, worked as a laundress and candy maker at The Galilean Children’s Home in Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, Jackie Ray Baugh whom she wed on Friday, June 22, 1973, two girls she claimed as her own, RoSandra “Ro” Moore & Daynesha “NeNe” Smith both of Lexington, siblings, Janet Lee (Dr. Thomas) Tohill of Somerset, Suzanne Gail Barnett of Somerset, Cynthia June “Cindy” Dailey (& Jimmy Wheeler) of Eubank, Vicky Laine (& Rick) Mounce of Somerset, Ricky Wayne (& Becky) Smith of Faubush, Robin Laura (& Mark C.) New of Burkesville, Aunts, Edith Goff Prewitt of Louisville & Edna Goff Buxton of Shelbyville, several Nieces, Nephews, great-Nieces, great-Nephews, cousins & friends also survive.
The Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte & her brother, Rick Smith officiating. Burial will be in The Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Pulaski County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. E.S.T. on Sunday November 17, and Monday morning from 7:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at New’s Monticello.
