David Teal

Mr. David Joel Teal of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, having attained the age of 73 years and 22 days. He was born on Wednesday, July 22, 1953, in Glasgow, Kentucky, the son of Adron & Geneva (Radford) Teal. He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Seminary Methodist Church since 1964. David proudly served in the United States Army and worked as an oil well foreman in the energy industry. He also loved his family and had a special fondness for Ford Mustangs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Teal.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle (& Brandon) Pickens of Albany, Kentucky; brother, Steve (& Brenda) Teal of Burkesville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Teal of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Emma Boykin and Silas Boykin; and great-granddaughter, Mae Ryan Beaty.

The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with family, and Bro. Gary Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2026, after 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the David Teal Cemetery, in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
