Mr. Clay Watson Sharp of Burkesville, Kentucky, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 16 days. He was born on Monday, October 15, 1934 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of Leslie Wilson & Vina (Watson) Sharp. He was of the Christian Faith, a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ, served in the U.S. Armored Division at Fort Knox, and worked as a crane operator for Bridge Port Brass in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Grace Wyatt, Ocie Key, Dixie Cary, and Dantha Garner, and brother, Clint Sharp.
He is survived by his brothers, Dave (& Shirley) Sharp of Celina, Tennessee, Robin (& Carol) Sharp of Burkesville, Kentucky, and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Memory Chapel of the Norris-New Funeral Home, with Bro. Keith Thompson, and Bro. Rick Garner officiating. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Jo Groce, Melvin Groce, Tom Wilkerson, Mark Gary, and Derric William.
