Christine (Blythe) Sharp, 92, of Glasgow, Kentucky, formerly of Cumberland County, passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in the Kettle Creek Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on November 1, 1930 to the late Ryne and Allie Blythe. Although she worked at various jobs, Christine’s primary role was a homemaker devoted to her family. She loved fishing, spending time outdoors, cooking, and playing games with friends and family. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clint Sharp whom she wed on November 26, 1948, a special niece, Mildred Adkins, and a great granddaughter, Carter Grace Bell. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Thelma Shearls, Effie Adams, Evie Williams, Viola Rich and her brother, Morris Blythe.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory three children, Linda (Jim) Thompson, Ralph Sharp (June) and Beverly (Jimmy) Mortimer. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren Jennifer (John) Myers, Kevin (Erica) Sharp, Julie Carter, Kristi Castillo, Allison (Andy) Mello, Adam (LeAnn) Brown, J. Ray Mortimer (Michael) and ten great grandchildren Elly Myers, John Carter Myers, Claudia Bell, Mary Catherine Bell, Gavin Brown, Shelby Brown, Asher Mello, Jude Sharp, Eila Sharp, and Vesper Sharp along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service was conducted Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with burial at Christian Chapel Cemetery. The celebration of her life was led by John Myers. Casket bearers were Jennifer (John) Myers, Kevin (Erica) Sharp, Julie Carter, Kristi Castillo, Allison (Andy) Mello, Adam (LeAnn) Brown.
