Cheryl Denise (Smith) Jones Powell

Mrs. Cheryl Denise (Smith) Jones Powell of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at her residence having attained the age of 53 years, 8 months, and 1 day. She was born on Friday, December 8, 1967, the daughter of Charles & Martha (Goforth) Smith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Jones, niece, Mary Smith.

     She is survived by her husband, John E. Powell whom she wed on Thursday, October 18, 2001, of Albany, Kentucky, daughter, Casey Jones of Burkesville, Kentucky, step-daughters, Angela Dicken, Cindy Conaster, Wendy Latham all of Albany, Kentucky, siblings, Mary Studebaker of Ohio, Leslie Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, Ella Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, Melissa Smith of Corbin, Kentucky, Michelle Bolton of London, Kentucky, Toni Smith of Keavey, Kentucky, grandchild, Trystan Evers, step-grandchildren, Jonathan (& Dagan) Conatser, Bethany Conatser, C.J. (& Madison) Dicken, Ben Latham, Alli Latham, step-great-grandchildren, Braxton and Brylee.

      The funeral service was conducted on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Jimmy Powell officiating. Special music and singing by Teresa Tarter. Casket bearers were James Glass, Wesley White, Eric Jones, Russell Sells, Chris Mooneyham, Michael Powell, Brian Tarter. Burial was in the Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
