Mr. Carl Howard Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his residence in Burkesville, Kentucky having attained the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 28 days. He was born on Saturday, September 28, 1935, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of Otha & Ocie (Skipworth) Scott. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Christian Church. A dedicated and honorable man, Carl was a member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge #413 F.&A.M. and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. His passion for aviation shaped much of his life, becoming a skilled pilot, a flight instructor, and the owner of his own aviation business. Whether teaching others to fly or soaring through the clouds himself, he found great joy and freedom in the air. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Scott Jr., and sister, Patricia Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Jahn) Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom he wed in 1978, son, Michael Scott of Apple Valley California, and many other family and friends.
A private funeral service was conducted on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to a local charity of your choice.
