Billy Wayne Ballard

Billy Wayne Ballard, 70, of Wilson, North Carolina passed away September 20, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Billy was born on January 6, 1951, in Marrowbone, Kentucky to the late Irvin and Jewell Smith Ballard. Billy worked for many years at SKF in Glasgow, Kentucky before moving to Wilson, North Carolina where he retired from Bridgestone Firestone. He was an avid golfer and a member of Willow Springs Country Club, and was a University of Kentucky basketball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mildred Savage.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Garner Ballard of Wilson, North Carolina, his son, Michael (Becky) Ballard of Burkesville, Kentucky, his daughter, Laura (Robert) Peterson of Springfield, Tennessee, his step-daughter, Buffy (Jeff) McLawhorn of Sims, North Carolina, grandchildren, Hannah and Micah Ballard, Mirah, Ace, and Nash Peterson, step-grandchildren, Briana, Jacob, and Riley McLawhorn, step-great-grandson, Drew McLawhorn, as well as a host of friends and relatives.

Billy chose cremation. A celebration of life service will be held on October, 15, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at the Willow Springs Country Club in Wilson, North Carolina.
