Mrs. Betty Sue (Key) Sherrell, of Celina, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at her residence in the Holy Creek Community of Clay County, Tennessee, having attained the age of 83 years, 8 months & 30 days. She was born on Sunday, November 20, 1938, in Clay County, Tennessee, the daughter of Cordell and Rosie (Long) Key. She was a member of The Rock Springs Church of Christ, a pre-school teacher, farmer, and a homemaker.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddy Ray Sherrell, whom she wed on Saturday, March 10, 1956, son, Clifford Ray Sherrell, sisters, Naomi Key, Mabel Jean Key, brother Reed Key, three infant brothers,

     She is survived by her children, Kathy (& Jimmy) Short of Celina, Tennessee, Anthony (& Rebecca) Sherrell of Celina, Tennessee, Terri (& Van) McMinn of Nashville, Tennessee, siblings, Billy Key of Celina, Tennessee, Nell (& Mike) Smith of Celina, Tennessee, grandchildren, Hannah French, Rebecca Golden, James Heath Short, Maralyn Rae Short, Maryna Betty Sue Sherrell, great-grandchildren, Asher Golden, Ian Golden, along with many other family members and friends.

     The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Church of Christ, 2020 Rock Springs Rd. Celina, Tennessee 38551 with Bro. John Mustain officiating. Casket bearers were Anthony Sherrell, Jimmy Short, Van McMinn, Stevie Key, Jessup French, and Cole Key. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery in the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to the Rock Springs Cemetery Fund or the Williams Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Sherrell.
