Mrs. Betty Jean Lyons of Edmonton, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at her residence in Edmonton, having attained the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 8 days. She was born in Metcalfe County, Kentucky on Sunday, September 24, 1939, the daughter of Elmer and Rosie Eudy Brown. She was of Baptist faith, a member of Pink Ridge Baptist Church in Edmonton, a loving mother, an excellent cook, a farmer, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Perkins, second husband, Barney Lyons, children, Linda Brown, Deborah Brown, Roger Perkins, grandson, Kenny Tomblin, sisters, Francis Coffey, Ann Suttles, and brother, Lewis Brown. She is survived by her children, Velma England of Edmonton, Kentucky, Amanda (Raymond) Morgan of Cave City, Kentucky, Zebbie (Cheryl) Perkins of Flint, Michigan, Greg Perkins of Columbia, Kentucky, Gracie Burden (Donovan Shockley) of Glasgow, Kentucky, step-daughters, Stella Lyons of New Haven, Kentucky, Amanda Lyons of Eastview, Kentucky, brother, Charles (Marilyn) Brown, sister, Gladys Smith, both of Edmonton, Kentucky, 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted on Friday, April 5, 2019, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Freddie Froedge officiating. Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery in Edmonton, Kentucky. Casket Bearers were Anthony England, Chris England, Kenny Tomblin, Roy Tomblin, T. K. Burden, and Robert Rhoton. Honorary Casket Bearers were Raymond Morgan and Donovan Shockley. Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
