Obituary

Mrs. Bea Henrietta (Norris) “Bennie” Young, of Summer Shade, Kentucky, formerly of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Kentucky having attained the age of 79 years, & 2 days. She was born on Saturday, July 17, 1943, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the daughter of Ben Henry & Polly Letha (Capps) Norris. She was a Christian, member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Doug Norris, and Barbara Mae Perkins, nephews, Leroy Finley, and Michael Perkins.

     She is survived by her children, Timmy (& Melissa) Young of Summer Shade, Kentucky, Stacey (& Peggy) Young of Glasgow, Kentucky, David Young of Summer Shade, Kentucky, Katrina Cashin of Summer Shade, Kentucky, sibling, Vivian (& Glen) Perkins of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Crystal (& Daniel) Spencer, Jonathan Young, Tabatha (& Zack) Leroy, Kelsie Cashin, Kylie Cashin, Kolten Cashin, Daniel (& Sarah) young, Aaron (& Hannah) Young, Crist Thomason, great-grandchildren, Jacoby Moore, Jaylan Phillips, Atrayas Leroy, Evelyn Carver, Eliza Young, Elam young, Dalton Spencer, Logan Spencer, and Callie Jo Walker.  

     The funeral service was held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 12:00 noon in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Davidson officiating. Casket bearers were Ricky Finley, Doug Perkins, Freddy Norris, Jerry Blakley, Daniel Spencer, and Jacoby Moore. Honorary casket bearers were Jonathan Young, Scotty Norris, Daniel Young, and Colton Cashin. Burial was in the Union #2 Cemetery in Barren County, Kentucky.

     Norris-New Funeral Home was honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
